4 KEYS TO SUCCESS
Programming for HAYMISH COMMUNITY SERVICES are built on the following key elements.
Employment readiness and volunteering skills training will combine in-programme, hands-on training and placement learning opportunities. These core competencies will prepare members for employment and volunteering experiences.
On-hand training will be provided through the in-house tuck shop, dances, and craft sales in the community.
Members will learn ways to develop new friendships and discover techniques to stay healthy at home and in the community.
Media Safety Training, Date Safe, Rights and Abuse prevention, Advocacy and Circles to enhance relationship boundaries will be provided through this key to success.
Members will build new skills to enhance their independence at home and in the community. Staff will complete life skills assessments to track progress and create person- centered programming.
Life Management activities include basic kitchen skills, completing tasks (such as setting a table), laundry, budgeting and social development.
Members will participate in recreation programs to promote social inclusion, therapeutic relationship development and connectedness to the local community.
Therapeutic recreation activities would include: Music and art activities, exploration of the plant and animal kingdom, sensory Activities, gardening and horticulture activities, etc.
